CP IDOWU OWOHUNWA VISITS LSSTF; ASSURES ‘A SAFER LAGOS’

The new Commissioner of Police in Lagos Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa has assured of a safer Lagos for residents during his tenure and particularly as we approach the general elections in 2023. He gave this note of confidence when he paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) yesterday, 15th February 2023.

During the visit, the CP hailed the various security interventions of the Fund which has improved the security architecture in Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre, Lagos. He also attested to the strides the Fund has been making over the years to improve the operational capacity of the Lagos State Police Command. He assured the Fund of his commitment and cooperation as well as that of the Police Command in ensuring a safer Lagos for residents.

The Executive Secretary/CEO, Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun; a Member of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan; and other management staff of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund received the newly deployed Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command.

In his remarks, the Executive Secretary/CEO of the LSSTF, Dr. Balogun welcomed the CP to Lagos State. He also reassured him of the Fund’s continuous commitment to facilitating safety and security in Lagos State.

Until his new appointment, CP Idowu Owohunwa was the Principal Staff Officer to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, a role which positioned him to monitor policing issues across all the 36 States of the Federation and the FCT on daily basis. At various times, Owohunwa had served as the Personal Assistant to IGP Solomon Arase (Rtd); Head of the Special Investigations Unit, FCID, Abuja; Head of the Security and Enforcement Unit of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Abuja; AC (Operations), Katsina State Police Command; AC (Administration), Zone 7 Police Headquarters, Abuja, and Assistant Director, (Department of Internal Security) Office of the National Security Adviser, Abuja.
