CDS Musa: Traditional Rulers Play Key Role in Ensuring National Stability

The Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has emphasized the crucial role traditional institutions play in ensuring national stability. This statement was made during a visit from the Dein of Agbor Kingdom, a significant traditional ruler from Delta State, to the Defense Headquarters.

In a statement by Director of Defense Information, Brig. Gen. Tukur Gusau, the CDS referred to traditional rulers as key vanguards of national stability and expressed appreciation for the monarch’s visit. He affirmed that the Armed Forces of Nigeria will continue to collaborate with traditional institutions to fulfill their constitutional responsibilities.

General Musa assured the traditional leader of the military’s commitment to protecting the nation’s territorial integrity and maintaining peace across Nigeria. He reiterated the military’s readiness to tackle all forms of insecurity facing the country.

During the visit, the Dein of Agbor expressed gratitude for the Armed Forces’ dedication and service, commending their sacrifices. He also thanked the CDS for accepting the apology from the people of Okuama in Delta State regarding the killing of military personnel during an attack in March 2024.
