In the beginning, it has been generally acknowledged that OSUN CENTRAL SENATORIAL DISTRICT was the strongest stronghold of the APC which prides itself as the Progressives. And in buttress to this claim, the Party usually have large harvest in terms of votes anytime there was an election. It was such that even the District of the outgoing Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, namely Osun East can not near the kind of booty that Osun Central has contributed to the success story of the APC in Osun State. This is not to be contested when the facts are laid bare – Two House of Representatives Members of the Peoples Democratic Party won against the Governor’s Candidates in his zone in 2015. This was followed by the repeated loss of the APC in Osun East in 2015 when the opposition PDP still won Two -2 seats in the House of Assembly.

However, the odds against Osun APC and its controversial Candidate, Gboyega Oyetola are critically high and by assumption, Osun Central which is hitherto their strongest stronghold has been taken over. For the records, we will be explicit in this analysis:

The Executives of the APC Party right in the Ward of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola at his Boripe Local Government already decamped in exodus out of the APC. Well maybe a Prophet is not usually loved at his home but it will take a miracle for an Oyetola who has been rejected by his Kinsmen back home to make any significant impact during the polls notwithstanding the power of incumbency.

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Honourable Lasun Yussuf was on a monitored television interview on TVC few days ago where he stated without mincing words that the APC under the leadership of its National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole has crumbled and he insisted that he will not decamp but wait inside for the House to come down upon everybody. Lasun Yussuf was a Governorship Aspirant of the same APC who participated in their governorship primaries before it was manipulated IN favour of Gboyega Oyetola. Evidentially, the House of Representatives Deputy Speaker is from Irepodun LG, a part of Osun Central which was believed to be the strongest stronghold of the APC.

Just yesterday, the APC in Ila LG was sacked by the defection of the State Lawmaker who is representing Ila State Constituency at the Osun State House of Assembly. The PDP is the new abode of Honourable Clement populary called Olohunwa. We say on good authority that more Lawmakers of the State House of Assembly from the same Osun Central has already defected to the PDP in principle and only waiting till the appropriate time before their official and open defection. How can the APC of Gboyega Oyetola survive this grand plot targeted at salvaging and liberating Osun State from the shackles of feudal lords?

We have seen recently, how another Governorship Aspirant who was cheated in the APC primaries that produced Alhaji Oyetola as Candidate has taken his destiny in his hand. Barrister Rasheed Adegoke Kunle popularly called K-RAD has instituted a case against the APC, INEC and their controversial Candidate Gboyega Oyetola to the effect that the so called APC governorship primaries in Osun State be set aside and that Oyetola be disqualified. The Plaintiff is from OSOGBO in Osun Central where Oyetola also hails, the Seat of Power and supposed stronghold of the APC. We saw sometimes ago how some of the Governor’s postal Boys insulted and almost assaulted the Muslim Leader in OSOGBO, Asiwaju Khamis Olatunde Badmus. This will have consequences too.

There has been gales of defection against the APC in Osun Central. Notably among those who have decamped are the fiery Politician from Osogbo, Alhaji Fatai Diekola, who was believed to be Aregbesola’s Godfather before he recently pitched his tent with the PDP. One time Commissioner for Information and Strategy under the APC administration, Akere Sunday has also decamped out of the APC from Boluwaduro local government in same Osun Central. Elder Yinka Adeojo also decamped from Boripe LG where the embattled APC Candidate is from. And more will follow in the days ahead. The situation triggered few days ago when it was rumoured that the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Mrs-Otunba Titilayo Laoye Tomori has also defected, a news which the Woman managed to debunk after she had allowed it to get viral. All is definitely not well with Osun State APC and it will amount to a fantasy to believe that the APC is going to retain Osun State.

My admonition to Osun State Electorates is that it is better to court a known Devil than an unknown Angel proverbially. The PDP is the most suited and suitable alternative to the maladministration of the APC in Osun State. And let it be stated that nobody can rig out Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke. It will therefore be safe to say that to avoid wasting of Votes, our aggregate of support can only be protected if we all install Adeleke democratically as the next elected fifth 5th Governor of Osun State. He will ensure even spread of dividends to the nooks and crannies of Osun State in line with the cultural and peculiar needs and priorities of each Area. May God deliver Osun State.
