BOLANLE RAHEEM: THANK YOU BUT DON’T RELENT ON OUR COLLEAGUE – NBA TELLS SANWO-OLU • NBA National Excos visit Lagos Government

In the light of current issues including the murder of late Barr. Bolanle Raheem, the executives of National Bar Association (NBA) paid a visit to the Governor of Lagos state, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu. Led by the President of the Nigerian Bar Association, YC Maikyau OON, SAN, the delegation comprised the General Secretary, Adesina Adegbite, the Welfare Secretary, Chinyere Obasi, the National Assistant Publicity Secretary, Charles Ajiboye, the Chairman of Eti-Osa Lawyers Forum, Chairman of Ikeja Branch, Mr. Seyi Olawumi, Mr Nasir Salau of Lagos Branch, the Chairman of Etiosa lawyers forum M. M Sanni, Alhaji Salman Salman among others. Trek Africa Newspaper can report that the official visit held on 6th of January 2023.

During the visit, the NBA President, Barr. OC Maikyau extended the association’s gratitude to the Lagos State Governor for his proactive role in the Bolanle Raheem’s Case. He also thanked the Governor for intervening in the Justice Taiwo gratuity saga, where the former judicial officers entitlement was withheld for months.

He, however, charged that the Governor ensure that there is cause of justice on the Bolanle Raheem matter. Maikyau further encouraged the Governor to continue in the proper dispensation of justice, setting the standards for other states to follow on how government can show value for the lives and affairs of its citizens.

In attendance at the meeting were the Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Folashade Jaji; Head of Civil Service, Hakeem Muri Okunola; the Attorney General Of Lagos State, Moyosore Onigbanjo, as well as the Commisoner for Youths, Olusegun Dawodu; and Commissioner for Women and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Bolaji Dada.
