Bauchi Community Declares Gov. Abubakar Incompetent to Govern Bauchi State

Muhammed_Abubakar, Bauchi State Governor

The people of Tafawa Balewa Local Government Council of Bauchi State has declared Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar as incompetent, bias,‎ self centre and a betrayal of trust.

This was contained in an open letter to the Governor signed by Mr.Yohanna K.Bayero, Mr. Yakubu Ibrahim, Mr. Emmanuel S. Manga and Elder Ezra Buba Num on behalf of Sayawa community elders of Tafawa Balewa LGA of the Bauchi State. It was tagged political marginalization of Sayawa community by his Excellency ‎the Governor of Bauchi.

According, to the statement, “we therefore, view the marginalization as real, and borders on deliberate exclusion and an attempt to deliberately neglect the existence of Sayawa community in Tafawa Balewa Local government“.

The statement further explained that, the marginalization was so obvious and deliberate in the recent boards, parastatals, administrators/caretakers, heads of departments and cabinet appointments in the state.

The elders posted out that the sharing of the appointments was much skewed against the Sayawa community in Tafawa Balewa.

To make matters worse, none of its sons or daughters was appointed in any boards, parastatals, caretaker, head of departments or in the state cabinet.

“The present administration has not been fair to us we have been relegated to the back door, it is so sad to treat a community that constitute probably the majority in the locality as second class citizens just because of their belief and faith“.‎ The statement added.

The Sayawa community in Tafawa Balewa may not have the economic power, but certainly it has the undisputed population, permanent voters cards (pvcs) and underutilized power to affect policies of the state come 2019. We will not hesitate to accept any political party with good intent of inclusive governance“.
