AYO OGUNSAN WINS NIGERIA POLICE DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD, REITERATES COMMITMENT TO PEACE-BUILDING

The Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) and Chairman of the Executive Group, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan was this evening awarded by the Nigeria Police Force for his immense support to the Police, Trek Africa Newspaper can report.
The presentation which was done by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun happened tonight at the Dinner and Gala Night holding in Owerri, Imo state is a culmination of the 3-day annual Conference and Retreat of Senior Police Officers. The conference is themed: ‘Fostering Economic Prosperity, Social Integration, and Political Development through Enhanced Internal Security Mechanism’.

Celebrated in a rapturous atmosphere, the awardee, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan hailed the Nigeria Police for giving him the Distinguished Service Award. Visibly excited at the award, Dr. Ogunsan expressed his gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Egbetokun for the honour done to him.
Trek Africa Newspaper can also report that he used the opportunity to reiterate his commitment to the ideals of societal development and peace-building in Nigeria.

Speaking briefly at the dinner, IGP Kayode Egbetokun noted: ‘It is the end of this year’s conference. It is rewarding for all participants and resource persons. We have had four editions. I had the opportunity to attend the first one as CP, the 2nd and 3rd as AIG, I didn’t have the opportunity of attending as DIG, and the 4th I am attending as IGP. I will say this is the best of the 4. I look forward to the 5th edition.’

On his part, the Secretary to the Imo State Government, Chief Iwu thanked the Nigeria Police Force, ‘I appreciate the Police for the sacrifice to maintain peace and security in the state. Regrettably in the course of that, some officers have paid the supreme sacrifice. I thank the NPF in Imo state for the cooperation between the NPF and the Imo state government.’
The Dinner and Gala night is also an opportunity for the Police to reward deserving members of the public who have demonstrated immense support for the Nigeria Police Force.
