AYO OGUNSAN CONGRATULATES CP OLATUNJI DISU ON NEW ROLE AS CP RIVERS STATE; URGES HIM TO KEEP FLAG FLYING

The Board Member of Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan today congratulated the new Commissioner of Police of Rivers State Command, CP Olatunji Disu. Trek Africa Newspaper reports that this follows the directive of the IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun which effected the redeployment of his former PSO to the new operational role as Head of a State Command.
In his congratulatory remarks, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan who recently won the Nigeria Police Distinguished Service Award hailed the exceptional qualities of CP Olatunji Disu. These sterling qualities, Ogunsan, observed has seen him progress in different ranks, formations, and tactical units in the Nigeria Police.

The Chairman of Executive Group, Ogunsan urged him to keep the flag flying in the new role. He told Trek Africa Newspaper, ‘CP Olatunji Disu has distinguished himself over the years as a fine officer and kind gentleman. This new role takes it a notch higher for him.’
‘I urge the new CP of Rivers state, CP Olatunji Disu to keep the flag flying in Rivers state. We have known him for good in Lagos, Abuja, he should keep the record in Rivers state. God will make him succeed to great heights.’
Trek Africa Newspaper can report that CP Olatunji Disu was a one-time Head of the IGP-Intelligence Response Team (IRT). He was also a one-time Head of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos. Under his watch, the RRS became popularly regarded as the Good Guys by Lagosians.
Also, Disu was the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja, and previously served as Deputy Head, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for Rivers Police Command.
Considering his excellent dedication to the duties assigned to him, Disu was appointed to lead the Nigeria Police Contingent to the African Union (AU) Peace Keeping Mission in Dafur, Sudan.
CP Olatunji Disu holds two Masters degrees in Public Administration from Adekunle Ajasin University and in Criminology, Security, and Legal Psychology from Lagos State University. His model of policing is largely predicated on the principle of policing by consent with emphasis on the 4Es of engaging, educating, explaining, and enforcing the law.
The sporty police officer, Disu has won several laurels since becoming a Judoka in 1986.
