AT LACVIS, ALL THAT WE DO IS TO ENSURE SAFETY – PRINCE OBAYENDO

The Managing Director/CEO of Lagos Computerized Vehicle Inspection Service (LACVIS), Prince Segun Obayendo has affirmed the role of his organization in the transport and traffic management of Lagos state. Speaking briefly at the Stakeholders Meeting organized by Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) under the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation covered by Oki Samson of Trek Africa Newspaper, the Prince noted that the role of LACVIS is primarily to support the efforts of VIS.

 

He said: ‘LACVIS is a supporter of VIS. We help them like husband and wife. We help them so that they can assess vehicles before we issue road worthiness documents to people. This is why we at LACVIS do check everything in a vehicle before granting roadworthiness.’

‘We do this so that we can prevent accidents. It is for safety. We beg you that you should support us in Lagos so that we can maintain our front position among states in Nigeria. This is why we are all here and we call you to be involved’ said the Head of the agency set up by the Lagos State Government.

On how the agency came into being, Prince Obayendo shared: ‘In 2003, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former Governor of Lagos State began what we know as MOT Testing but with successive administrations of Babatunde Fashola, Akinwunmi Ambode, and Babajide Sanwo-olu, they decided that we should do it the way it is done overseas.’
