ARE YOU ANALYZING DATA OR PARALYZING DATA?

Director-General, National Bureau of Statistics, Dr. Yemi Kale
• Oladeji Stephen hails Director-General, Dr. Yemi Kale and National Bureau of Statistics for providing Nigeria with insight
• Calls for prompt and adequate policy implementation by nation’s leaders
• As first edition of #Reminisense holds on Twitter
‘What you intend to achieve when analyzing data is to get insight’, says Oladeji Stephen, a well-versed data analyst in a #TweetChat session tagged #Reminisense with Abayomi Oyelami on popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter.
Outside the endgame called insight, data gathering and analysis is useless. Data in itself is just facts and figures, it is analyzing them that make businesses grow or nations move ‘sprightly forward’ as the tagline of #Reminisense emphasizes. And here the role of a data analyst comes to the fore. He/she ‘organizes, interprets, and presents the data into useful information that provides context for the data’, Stephen shared.
Mr. Oladeji believes that the Director-General, Dr. Yemi Kale and the entire team at Nigeria Bureau of Statistics are doing a wonderful job in analyzing and getting insight that could lead to sociopolitical and economic development for Nigeria. He, however, calls for policy implementation as he said ‘data analysts and scientists can only provide information, they are not policy implementers’.
The young professional who tweets with the handle @RealSaintSteven said he is a big fan of current United States President, Mr. Donald Trump @realDonaldTrump, hence the word ‘real’ is also on his Twitter handle.
#Reminisense the #TweetChat series holds every Tuesday at 7pm on Twitter via @yomioyelami.
