AIG DUROSINMI, CP FAYOADE DECORATE 5 DCPs, 3 ACPs AT ZONE 2; TELLS THEM ‘HIGHER RANK MEANS HIGHER RESPONSIBILITY’

Eight (8) senior police officers of the Zone 2 Police Command (comprising Lagos and Ogun states) have gained promotions into new ranks and have been decorated likewise, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report. The decoration ceremony of the 5 ACPs now DCPs and 3 CSPs now ACPs held at the Zonal Command in Onikan, Lagos yesterday 7th February 2024. The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG in charge of Zone 2, AIG Olatoye Durosinmi was supported by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos Command, CP Adegoke Fayoade, family and friends of the newly ranked officers.

Some of the senior officers and guests at the decoration ceremony include; Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Adegoke Fayoade, Deputy Commissioner of Police, DC Operations, Zone 2, DCP Martin Nwogohi; DC ZCID, DCP Olawale Ajao; ACP Lawal Issah; ACP Okputa Chinwe; Officer in Charge, Zonal Anti-Crime Unit, CSP Omotayo Adegbite; Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, SP Umma Ayuba; HRH Igwe Kelvin, President, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, Comrade Oki Samson among other dignitaries.

NAOSNP can report that the promotees include DCP Olubunmi Fakeye, DCP Olugbenga Adeoye, DCP Oliver Ezirim, DCP Oludotun Odubona, and DCP Ayodeji Dagunduro. The new ACPs are ACP Sarah Onyibe, ACP Bulus Musa, and ACP Shuaibu Wara.

Addressing the promotees, the AIG in charge of Zone 2 (Lagos and Ogun) AIG Olatoye Adio Durosinmi remarked: ‘We want to thank the IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun for counting you worthy. For the DCPs, none of you are less than 20 years in service. I congratulate you. I want you to know that wearing a higher rank means higher responsibility.’

Expressing their excitement to NAOSNP at the decoration ceremony, some of the promotees shared their thoughts. DCP Gbenga Adeoye shared: ‘I want to thank God for this great privilege. I thank the Chairman of Police Service Commission (PSC), Dr. Solomon Arase and the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun. The reward of hardwork is more hardwork to continue to impact people everywhere I go and put in my best in whatever I find myself.’

For DCP Oliver Ezirim, ‘This is a sign of recognition of what you are doing and I give glory to God.’

While ACP Shuaibu Wara noted that ‘this is one of the ranks that when you get, you know you are a policeman, everything about you will change. By God’s Grace, IGP gave us this, we will work for him and work with him. Even though, we are now tactical, we will still work with our junior officers.’

 

 

On his part, DCP Oludotun Odubona used the opportunity to advise Nigerian youths. He said: ‘You too can get to where the IGP is, you too can be the President of this Country. Be dutiful, listen to your parents. Be conscious of who you are.’

For DCP Olubunmi Fakeye, ‘this is about 28 years in active service and I have had the opportunity of serving across the country. All of us, the new DCPs are coursemates, we joined the Police in 1996.’

DCP Fakeye Olubunmi Olubode

 

A profile of the new promotees show that DCP Fakeye Olubunmi Olubode Psc, NIPS was born on 25th of May 1971 to the family of late Chief David Adeosun and late Chief Mrs Alice Adefunke Fakeye of Ila Orangun in Osun State. DCP Fakeye Olubunmi Olubode is a graduate of philosophy from Obafemi Awolowo University ile- Ife Osun state in 1989. He was the AC Basic Training Wing where he remains until he was promoted as Deputy Commissioner of Police.

DCP Ayodeji Adeleye Dagunduro is a native of Ilesa in Osun state. He graduated from University of Jos in 1991 with B.A, Language Arts Education and later had his M.Sc in criminology and Security Psychology. He joined the Nigeria Police Force cadets ASP in 1996. He is the Area Commander, Ayetoro Yewa North till his present promotion.

 

DCP Oludotun Olayinka Odubona is a native of Ikenne in Ogun state. He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 15th August 1996 as a cadet ASP. He is the ACP Operations in charge Lagos State Police Command till his promotion. He holds BSc in Zoology from Lagos State University among others.

DCP Oliver Nnanyereugo Ezirim was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as Cadet ASP on 15th August, 1996. He was the ACP operation Airport Police command Lagos untill his recent promotion as Deputy Commissioner of Police.

 

DCP Olugbenga Adeolu Adeoye Psc, RPF is a native of Ibadan in Oyo state. DCP Olugbenga obtained his first degree in Psychology from university of Ibadan in 1991 and MS industrial and organization psychology from the same university in 1995. He is the Area Commander, Area M, in Lagos Command till his promotion as Deputy Commissioner of Police.

For the ACP ranks, ACP Sarah Edoize Onyibe was enlisted cadet inspector into the Nigeria police force on 26th July 1994 and was serving at State CID Panti Yaba Lagos state till her present promotion as ACP. She is a graduate of Business Administration From Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos.

 

ACP Bulus Flana Musa enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 19th April, 2010 as cadet superintendent of police. He is from Kaltungo in Gombe State. He is the officer in-charge FAB/VETERINARY till his promotion as Deputy Commissioner of Police.

ACP Shuaibu Musa Wara is a native of Ngaski from Kebbi state. He holds a BSc in Geography from university of Usman Danfodio. He enlisted in to the Nigeria police academy as Cadet Inspector 2002.
