AGORO URGES ST. GREGORY’S GRADUATES TO EMBRACE POSITIVITY, DISCIPLINE, AND INTEGRITY

 

 

Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, on Saturday, 20th June 2026, urged graduating students of St. Gregory’s College, Ikoyi, Lagos, to cultivate a positive mindset and speak positively about themselves, their future, and the nation.

Agoro gave the charge at the Graduation and Valedictory Ceremony of the Class of 2025/2026 of his alma mater, where he served as the Guest Speaker. A total of 82 students graduated at the event, which was held at the College Hall.

Speaking on life beyond the classroom, the Head of Service noted that the world would test the graduands not through examinations but through moments of pressure and difficult choices that would shape their character and future.

He encouraged the graduands to be intentional in their actions, maintain a positive outlook, and remain optimistic about opportunities in Nigeria. He also urged them to cultivate resilience, perseverance, sportsmanship, and a strong commitment to leadership and public service.

Agoro advised the students to begin early in building values of discipline, integrity, determination, and dedication, noting that habits formed at a young age would significantly influence their future.

Highlights of the ceremony included the presentation of awards to outstanding students for academic excellence and exemplary character, as well as the induction of the graduating class into the St. Gregory’s College Old Boys Association.

Dignitaries present at the event included the Permanent Secretary, Lands Bureau, Mr. Kamal Olowoshago; the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila; the Permanent Secretary, Office of Physical Planning, TPL. Wasiu Olayinka; the Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission, Mr. Rafiu Ojikutu; the Director-General, Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC), Mr. Babalola Obilana; the College Administrator, Members of the Governing Board, Management Staff, Parents, Guardians, and other well-wishers.
