ACF Southwest Chapter Convenes In Ogbomoso: Outgoing Executive Returned For 2nd Term In A Vote Of Confidence

The Southwest chapter of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), held its executive council meeting on Saturday, 4th of October, 2025, in the conference hall of star hotel and suites, located in the Sabo area of Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The meeting was procedurally chaired by Alhaji Abdullahi Tanko, whose first constitutional term as chairman of the Southwest executive committee, as well as the entire team’s first three years mandate expired on the 10th of September, 2025, but have now been returned for another term of three years, through a vote of confidence affirmation by a two third majority of eligible members during the ACF southwest executive committee meeting, held on Saturday in Oyo State.

Some members of the committee returned by the vote of confidence exercise as contained in the forum’s constitution, include, Alhaji Abdullahi Tanko, as chairman, southwest ACF, comrade Sani Salisu Danmuttaqa, deputy chairman, comrade Gambo Ibrahim Muhammad, general secretary, comrade Ibrahim Abubakar Jagaba, publicity secretary, comrade Ishaya Haruna, auditor, comrade Isah Abdullahi, assistant publicity secretary, comrade Jamilu Ali Ahmad, assistant auditor amongst others.
ACF’s state chapter chairmen as well as executives from the six southwestern states of Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo and Lagos, were all in attendance and actively participated in the processes leading to the return of the Alhaji Tanko led executive committee for a second term; state chairmen and a number of their excos, were also returned in similar fashion as provided for in the ACF constitution except for Ekiti State which is on hold for now due to a pending matter needing further consultation.
The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), southwest chapter, was formally inaugurated in the Moshood Abiola Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, on the 10th of September, 2022; the governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, assisted by ACF’s national administrative secretary, Alhaji Munir Mustapha, conducted the historic exercise, giving birth to the pioneer zonal chapter of the forum across southern Nigeria.
Accepting the new mandate, Alhaji Abdullahi Tanko, pledged to lead with commitment, adding that, it was no gain saying that, the team has learned and knows better after the first term of three years and it was time to move ACF southwest chapter forward again.
Similarly, state chairmen and executives returned, jointly pledged to sacrifice more with selflessness and determination to strengthen the ideals of unity and progress.
