The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Morufu Tunji Alausa, has declared that the transformation of Epe General Hospital into a Federal Medical Centre (FMC) is “a giant step forward in healthcare.

History was made on Thursday as the Federal Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Lagos State Government for the transfer of Epe General Hospital to serve as the site for the newly established Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Epe.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, which was witnessed by the Lagos State Government, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other stakeholders in the state, Dr Alausa emphasized the significance of this milestone for the people of Epe and surrounding communities.

Trek Africa Newspaper reports that the FMC is set to provide advanced medical services, including specialized care in pediatrics, surgery and obstetrics, while also establishing a School of Nursing to train future healthcare professionals.
