BudgIT Reports: Only Two Nigerian States Can Thrive Without Federal Allocations
By Trek Africa Newspaper

BudgIT, a civic tech organization, has reported that only Lagos and Rivers states can independently manage their operational expenses without depending on revenue from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).
This finding was revealed in its 2024 State of States Report, launched in Abuja on Tuesday. The report further indicated that Ogun, Anambra, Cross River, Kwara, Kaduna, and Edo states can generate enough Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to cover at least 50 percent of their operational costs.
