How Soldiers Rescued Oba Akiolu From Rampaging Hoodlums’ Attack; Palace Vandalised But Not Set Ablaze

But for the timely arrival of armed soldiers in about five vehicles who rescued and whisked him away to safety, the Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty Rilwan Osuolale Akiolu would have been attacked by rampaging hoodlums who stormed his palace on Wednesday, 21 October, 2020.

This medium learnt from a source at the palace that hoodlums stormed the palace located at Iga Idunganran area of Lagos early Wednesday morning seeking blood after they have successfully set ablaze the Ebute Ero police station and injuring the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), named Shina.

“They stormed the palace aiming to set it ablaze and attacked Kaabiyesi but he was rescued by the soldiers who came after a distress call was made to them. They came and whisked him away as well as prevented the hoodlums from setting the palace on fire.

“However, they succeeded in carting away valuables in the process and vandalising some buildings and properties in the palace before the arrival of the soldiers,” sources told Trek Africa Newspaper
Reports stated that the soldiers came in five vehicles and were able to bring the situation under control.
