Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has stated that the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State will overcome obstacles and emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a special dedication service of the APC 2027 election campaign at the International Christian Worship Centre, Uyo, the Governor noted that the dedication was in acknowledgement of the supremacy of God in the affairs of men.
He said the service was to dedicate the campaign council and all candidates of the APC in the forthcoming election into the hands of God.
“We deliberately chose to begin this journey in the House of God because we understand that there is a God who rules in the affairs of men.
“We may have our plans, we may have our strategies, we may have our structures, we may have human credibility, but ultimately, it is God who directs the affairs of life. And determines the outcome of every endeavour,” he said.
He made reference to Proverbs 3:5- 6, emphasizing the need to trust in God for direction, saying, “that is our prayer today that the Lord will direct our path, go before us, order our steps and let His will prevail in all we do.”
The Governor who is seeking re-election through the APC platform, said the service was not merely to ask for blessings for the campaign plans, but to surrender all the plans to God.
He noted that in line with the theme of the service, “We are well able,” taken from Numbers 13:30, the party was well able to deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, all the National Assembly candidates, himself as Governor and all the State House of Assembly candidates.
“We are well able, because God is able. We are well able because we are trusting Him, to lead us, strengthen us and direct our steps,” he added.
He testified that he had, four years ago, dedicated his first term campaign to God in church, and it turned out successful, vowing that after a successful election in 2027, the party will return for thanksgiving to God.
Speaking further, he said, “Being well able does not mean we are independent of God, but that we recognise our dependence on Him. So as members of our team, both in the campaign council and our candidates, I urge us to approach this assignment with humility, unity, discipline and a genuine commitment to service.”
The Governor urged party faithful not to allow self aggrandizement or disagreement to cause distraction from the collective responsibility.
He emphasized that the people of the State remain at the centre of his leadership and all aspiration must be connected to the welfare of the people and the future of the State.
Governor Eno appreciated the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and wife, as well as other critical stakeholders for attending the service.
The State Chief Executive also appreciated religious leaders for the support over the years, and assured them of continuous collaboration for the overall good of the State.

He emphasized on the need for unity amongst the candidates, campaign council and the entire members of the party stressing that all forms of division should be jettisoned for the party to excel.
Akpabio urged members of the campaign council to prioritize wisdom over arrogance, reconciliation over resentment, and service over self glorification.
