Governor, Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma
Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has visited the scene of the collapsed 8 storey building at Yar’dua drive, Owerri to have a personal feel of the situation.
Senator Uzodinma, who most sincerely commiserated with the families of the dead and the wounded, ordered a full scale investigations vowing that any one found culpable will be brought to book.

He also issued an arrest order on the owner and contractors of the collapsed 8-storey building owing to the fact that the contractors flouted the lockdown directive which was an offence punishable by law, in addition to not building according to approvals from the Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA).
According to him, the wounded have since been evacuated to the hospital and are being treated, insisting that Imo State Government would put machineries in place to ensure that such tragic events does not occur in the future.
