Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has been listed as the Osun State Coordinator of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.
The membership list of the PBAT/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council also names former Osun State Governor, Chief Adebisi Akande, and former Deputy Governor of the state, Senator Iyiola Omisore, as advisers to the council.
The development comes as the Imole Campaign Council has welcomed Adeleke’s reported appointment, pledging to mobilise 1.5 million votes for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement signed by its Director-General, Senator Olalere Oyewumi, the Imole Campaign Council described the appointment as well deserved and assured the President that his confidence in Adeleke’s ability to deliver Osun State would not be misplaced.
“The Imole Campaign Council welcomes the appointment of Governor Adeleke as State Coordinator of PBAT Presidential Campaign Council in Osun.
“The appointment is a well-deserved one. We assure the President that his confidence in the ability of Governor Adeleke to deliver Osun in the presidential election will not be misplaced,” the statement read.
The council also recalled an earlier pledge attributed to Adeleke to deliver 1.5 million votes for Tinubu, expressing its commitment to ensuring the President’s victory in the forthcoming election.
“We promise the President, just like Governor Adeleke had said sometime ago, that we will deliver 1.5 million votes to ensure his victory in the coming presidential election,” the statement added.
The group urged Osun residents to continue supporting Adeleke, linking their support for the governor to Tinubu’s re-election bid.
“Our message to the people of Osun State is to keep trusting and supporting Governor Adeleke as he continues to deliver on his campaign promises. A vote for President Tinubu is a support for Governor Adeleke,” it stated.
Under the reported composition of the campaign council, President Tinubu is listed as chairman, while Senator Abdulaziz Yari has been named Director-General and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, secretary.
The membership list was signed by the APC National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru,
The council is scheduled to be inaugurated on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Adeleke’s reported appointment would see him assume a key role in coordinating Tinubu’s presidential campaign in Osun State, where the APC lost the August 15, 2026 governorship election to the Accord.
Former Osun State Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, was reportedly replaced by Adeleke as the state coordinator in the updated campaign council.
The development comes amid political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections and has drawn attention to the relationship between Adeleke and Tinubu, particularly following the governor’s reported endorsement of the President for a second term.
Adeleke, however, belongs to the Accord, while Tinubu is the presidential candidate of the APC, highlighting the cross-party dimension of the reported campaign arrangement.
