Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, serving as the Borno State Coordinator and Returning Officer for the 2026 APC presidential primary election, oversaw a peaceful and high-turnout direct primary in Mafa Ward, Mafa Local Government Area, on Saturday.
Thousands of party faithful participated in the exercise across the local government, which was conducted hitch free.
At the conclusion of voting in Mafa Ward, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured 2,175 votes out of 2,277 total votes cast. His opponent, Mr. Stanley, received no votes.
Speaking after the exercise, Governor Zulum commended party members for their orderly conduct and what he described as an unwavering commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He said the process reflected party unity and confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership.
The APC presidential direct primaries were held on 23 May 2026 across all political wards in Borno State.
