Suspended Rivers State governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has congratulated the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on the conferment of a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) Honoris Causa by the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).
Fubara described the award as “well-deserved,” praising Wike’s impact as a transformational and visionary leader whose legacy in governance continues to shape the future of Nigeria.
The honour was conferred on Wike during UNIPORT’s 35th Convocation and 50th Anniversary Celebration, where other prominent Nigerians, including Senator Oluremi Tinubu, also received recognition.
In a congratulatory statement personally signed by Fubara on behalf of his family and the people of Rivers State, he noted that the award was “a celebration of Wike’s immense contributions to education, governance, and national development.”
“Your leadership has uplifted lives, strengthened institutions, and inspired renewed confidence in governance.”
