“If You’re Driving a Corolla Car, Please Don’t Stop Me, I’m Not Your Type – Lady Warns Men”

A young Nigerian lady has stirred controversy on social media after openly advising men who drive Toyota Corolla cars not to approach her for attention or conversation.

The lady, an X user and skincare vendor, made the statement in a post that quickly went viral. She said she is not interested in men who drive Corolla cars and insisted they fall below her preferred standards.

According to her, a man driving a Corolla attempted to stop and speak to her earlier in the day—an encounter she described as “audacious” and unacceptable.

“A man driving a Corolla tried to stop me today. Like guy, are you okay? Do I look like your target audience?” she wrote. “How can a guy with a Corolla be stopping me? With all due respect, if you’re driving a Corolla, please face your lane. I cannot be explaining my standards to you.”

Her comment generated a wave of reactions online. While some users applauded her confidence and the bold assertion of her personal standards, others criticized the statement as classist, insensitive, and unnecessarily dismissive toward hardworking individuals.

The debate continues as many Nigerians weigh in on social preferences, societal expectations, and the notion of “standards” in modern relationships.
Her declaration dropped on X like a blockbuster soundtrack.
Some users cheered her on, saying, “Sis knows what she wants!”
Others dragged her, joking that even the Holy Spirit might be driving a Corolla in this economy.

One user wrote:

“Madam calm down… even angels use Toyota this period.”
Another said:
“Corolla wey de carry half of Lagos to destiny—na him you dey insult?”

The conversation spiraled so wildly that Corolla owners began forming an unofficial support group in the comments, assuring each other that their cars still have Bluetooth and AC.

Whether she was being serious, petty, or just mischievous, one thing is clear:

Corolla drivers will think twice before stopping any lady that looks like she has “standards” written on her forehead.
