Agege Molebi United Forum’s Pioneer Exco Inaugurated – 12 Years After Founding • Sanwo-Olu’s SA on Legislature, Politics & Civic Engagement Elected First President

Twelve years after Agege based non governmental organisation (NGO), the Agege Molebi United Forum, was giving birth to, a new dawn has officially begun for the forum, with a history-making inauguration of its first elected executive committee, on Saturday, 21st June, 2025, in Lagos.
The epoch-making inauguration ceremony, was held in the heart of Agege, at No 20, market street, Gbogunleri, Isale-Oja, Agege, the official secretariat of the forum, otherwise known as Babaloke Villa.
The ten member executive committee, led by Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, who is the special adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Legislature, Politics and Civic Engagement, was administered the oath of office and sworn in by Barrister Shola Animashaun, a respected legal practitioner and prominent member of the Agege club.

The occasion was attended by dignitaries from across continents of the world including, America, Europe, as well as professionals, in diverse disciplines; they include, Agegerian and Honorable Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Honorable Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, who was ably represented by his son, AbduGaniyu Vinod Obasa, who incidentally is the Vice Chairmanship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the forthcoming Lagos State Local Council elections, global President of Ahmadiyya College Agege, old students association (ACAOSA), now renamed as Anwarul Islam College, Agege, Dr. Agboola Afolabi Fatai, CSP Akerele Adetayo, Chairman, Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Taskforce), Honorable Jubril Adedeji Abdulkareem, Legislative member, representing Agege constituency 02 at the Lagos State house of assembly, Alausa, high chief Rashid Kuku, the Baale, Gbogunleri Isale-Oja, ACG Tunji Aremu (RTD), an Oil and Gas magnate, Mr. Yomi Okundalaiye, UK based, entrepreneur, Barr, Shola Animashaun, Mr. Kenneth Mabunmi, USA based, entrepreneur, amongst others.
The newly sworn-in executive committee, as earlier mentioned, has Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajuddeen, FFAN, FCIA, as its President, Rafiu Muhammed, a banker, as vice President, Jimoh Nurudeen Olalekan, CSS, CPSM, MIIPS, a telecom infrastructure security consultant, as General Secretary, Wale Adeniyi, anipr, a media practitioner, as Assistant General Secretary, Dr. Waseelah Omobola Tijani, an educationist, currently lecturing at OAU, Ife, as treasurer, Kamal Adalemo, a realtor, as financial secretary, Laketu Samsideen, a business consultant, as social and welfare secretary, Opeyemi Oyetola, an entrepreneur, as publicity secretary, Comrade Olatunde Owoeye-Wise, a rights crusader and Furniture supplier, as chief whip and Akin-Ajayi Akinkunle, a Lawyer, as legal adviser.

Delivering his inaugural speech, Dr. Afolabi, said, dearest esteemed members of Agege Molebi United Forum (AMUF), with a heart full of gratitude and a profound sense of responsibility as the newly elected President of our great forum, I appreciate you all.
He expressed sincere appreciation to the Board of Trustees (BOT) for their steadfastness, wise counsel, and unwavering support throughout the process that brought AMUF to a defining moment; he added that, BOT’s guidance remained the bedrock of the forum’s progress and unity.
He commended the electoral committee for upholding diligence, transparency, and professionalism, values he asserted, ensured the delivery of a seamless election, attesting to the dedication and integrity invested in the entire process.
The president, also commended and appreciated AMUF members, saying, their participation, encouragement, and belief in the electoral process, was inspiring. The president added that, his emergence was not a lone victory but a collective mandate that signified a shared vision for growth, unity, and continued development for Agege and Agegerians.
Dr Afolabi, seized the moment to appreciate all the dignitaries that honoured the forum with their rare presence.
Said he, supported by members of the new executive committee, I pledge to serve with integrity, inclusiveness, and a deep sense of commitment to the ideals and objectives of AMUF; he emphasized the importance of unity of purpose and determination as recipes to elevate the legacy of Agege Molebi United Forum.
Some of the dignitaries, including, Chairman of the occasion, global President, ACAOSA, Honorable Sola Osolana, Rt. Hon. Obasa Jnr. spoke glowingly about the initiative that birthed the forum, during their goodwill messages.
Relying on the legal privileges provided for his office in the forum’s constitution, the AMUF president, formally pronounced chairman of the occasion. and AbduGaniyu Vinod Obasa, as new members during the occasion.
Agege Molebi United Forum (AMUF), is the proverbial child of circumstance, pioneered and unleashed by Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Saheed Olayinka Egbeyemi, a proud Agegerian, Molebian and ACP in charge of operations at the zone 2 command of the Nigeria Police Force, Onikan, Lagos, the forum was created to change the negative narrative of past decades about Agege and present the underreported, exemplary stories of the Agege community; the forum has since risen to prominence for humanitarian service, educational support initiatives to indigent pupils across schools in Agege, relief materials supplies to correctional centre inmates, anti cultism, anti electoral violence and anti social vices campaign and Crusades across the Agege nation, a cause that has contributed immensely to the reduction of anti social conducts and reinforcement of public peace, order and sanity in Agege generally, as conveyed in ACP Egbeyemi’s opening remarks at the inauguration ceremony.
