Addressing an audience that included dignitaries from the PCRC national committee and the Lagos chapter, senior female Police officers in the Lagos State Command, members of the PCRC Women Committee, members of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), members of PWA, and women from other sections of society, Dr. Ogunsan emphasized that the task of raising value-driven children has never been more critical. “We live in an age where darkness, moral darkness, spiritual blindness, and the erosion of truth is being celebrated,” she declared. “The problem is not the presence of darkness; it is the absence of light-bearers.”

She stressed that modern influences such as social media, moral relativism, and declining family values have reshaped the environment in which children grow. This, she noted, places a sacred responsibility on parents, especially mothers to model the integrity, faith, and discipline they expect from their children. “Raising children of light begins with being light ourselves,” she said. “Children learn more from what they observe than from what they are told.”

She further encouraged mothers to invest time in conversation, mentorship, accountability, and prayer as tools for nurturing emotionally stable and morally resilient young people. “Let us be the Deborahs of our time, discerning, decisive, and determined.”
