The Presidency has taken a swipe at former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, and former Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, branding them as “disgruntled politicians” over their recent political moves.

This medium reports that Atiku, who contested the 2023 presidential election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), announced on Thursday that opposition parties had formed a coalition aimed at unseating the ruling party and President Bola Tinubu.

Reacting to the development, President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, dismissed the coalition, describing its members as frustrated and bitter politicians.

In a post on 𝕏, Onanuga stated that Tinubu remains committed to governance and will not be distracted by what he called a group of “sore losers.”

“My message to the coalition of Tinubu haters: President Tinubu is focused on governance to build a prosperous country. He is on the way to achieving this. Two months to his midterm, he has many solid achievements to showcase.

“Intractable problems are being tackled headlong. He cannot be distracted by the so-called coalition of politicians. They are not politicians after the public good. It’s all about their self-interest. They are disgruntled. They are a frustrated lot.

“The leaders are sore losers. The coalition is an amalgam of Tinubu haters. Their agenda is to stop Tinubu,” Onanuga wrote.

The opposition coalition, which reportedly includes former Ekiti State governor Kayode Fayemi and former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi, has yet to respond to the presidency’s remarks.
