Fintiri Commends Diri’s Developmental Strides in Bayelsa

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has lauded his Bayelsa State counterpart, Senator Douye Diri, for his impressive five-year tenure in office.
Fintiri’s commendation came during the inauguration of a new Commissioners Quarters and a dual carriage road in the New Yenagoa City, as part of Governor Diri’s fifth-anniversary celebration.
The Adamawa governor praised Diri’s commitment to providing infrastructure, noting that leaders who prioritize the people’s needs have their best interests at heart.
He highlighted Diri’s achievements, stating that the Bayelsa governor has “etched his name as a governor doing wonders in Bayelsa State” and has fostered special friendships across the country and within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family ¹.
In his remarks, Governor Diri expressed gratitude to the host communities of Onopa and Amarata for their peaceful conduct, which ensured the smooth delivery of the projects.
He emphasized the importance of proper planning for urban growth, thanking the contractor and the New Yenagoa City Development Agency for their hard work.
The Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Mr. Perepuighe Biewari, noted that the housing project’s completion marked the beginning of development in the area, opening it up to more infrastructure and economic growth.
The project, consisting of 40 units of five-bedroom duplexes, was approved in 2021 and commenced construction on February 10, 2022.
Also speaking, the Works and Infrastructure Commissioner, Mr. Moses Teibowei, explained that the city’s design aimed to accelerate housing development in a planned form, complete with amenities such as public water supply, solar lights, and electricity.
He expressed confidence that the road would improve vehicular movement, aesthetics, and accessibility, ultimately attracting economic growth.
