Nigerian Army Renames Ikeja Cantonment After Late COAS Lt. Gen. T.A Lagbaja

Nigerian Army has renamed the Ikeja Military Cantonment in honour of the late Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.
The Cantonment is renamed ‘T. A. Lagbaja Cantonment’.
Present at the event is the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen. Christopher Musa and other service chiefs.
Born on February 28, 1968, Lt. General Lagbaja was appointed Chief of Army Staff on June 19, 2023, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He died in Lagos, aged 56 after battling an undisclosed ailment, this medium can reports.
Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja was laid to rest in Abuja on Friday, November 15.
The burial took place at the National Cemetery in the nation’s capital marking an end to two days of funeral rites that began in Lagos.
Lt. General Lagbaja is survived by his beloved wife, Mariya, and their two children.
