A newly and unique alcoholic drink, Firemore blended brandy is now in the Nigerian market making waves as it competes favourably with other brands.

Firemore brandy, one of the preferred blended brandy in Nigerian market is from the stables of MP Master Piece Limited, producer of Skirt blended brandy and others. It circulates in Lagos stores, supper markets, Guest Inns, Shoperites, Eateries and other parts of the country.

In a media chat with newsmen in Lagos, the Managing Director, CEO, MP Master Piece, Ltd, Mr Emeka Ike, said, “Firemore was produced with unique flavour that appeals to consumers. It’s great for use in baking and desserts. Use with a form of sweetener to bring out the flavor in all baking and pastries”.

However, the young CEO, Mr Ike said that, presently, Nigeria needs more indigenous producers to create job opportunities for our younger generation and tackle unemployment and poverty, but the environment is not friendly for producers that is why many producers have left the country leaving few that are struggling to survive”.

Again, Mr Ike lamented the deplorable state of our roads which hinders distribution and move of goods from one location to other. “The state of roads are terrible and it causes producers to spend much on maintenance of vehicles, and in most cases, lost of goods on the roads as trucks conveying goods from place of production to distributors somersaulted”.

“I use this medium to appeal to the government to fix our roads so that producers would find it easy to convey goods around the country. Local producers in the country are facing numerous challenges despite their efforts to create employment opportunities in Nigeria. High cost of production is very high, producers generate power for themselves to produce and still pay electricity bills monthly.

High rate of inflation which affects cost of production materials. Several producers are finding it difficult to pay salaries, in fact a lot of companies have left the country for not been able to meet up with production costs, thereby increasing the labour market which leads to insecurity, poverty in the land. When leadership can’t provide employment for their graduates and average citizens it affects national development”.

According to Mr Ike, government has to develop policies that would promote local production to encourage the few producers still in Nigeria.

Continuing, Ike said, “We are indigenous company, we are the producer of Firemore, Skirt blended brandies, and others. We have been in the market for years competing even though the spirit, wine industry are facing tough environmental, operational challenges like every other industry. The market is dull now owing to numerous factors militating production process here”.

Nigeria needs conducive environment to attract foreign investments and encourage local producers in the country. The country needs security to encourage local producers that will create more job opportunities in Nigeria”.
