Several prominent figures from the All Progressives Congress (APC) have voiced their support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and the success of all APC candidates in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
Key APC chieftains, including former National Chairman Chief Bisi Akande, former Ogun State Governor Aremo Olusegun Osoba, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside governors from Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti States—Dapo Abiodun, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Biodun Oyebanji—have rallied behind Tinubu’s campaign.
Trek Africa Newspaper reports that However, President Tinubu has emphasized that his primary focus is not on the forthcoming elections but rather on revitalizing the economy to improve the welfare of the Nigerian populace.
He made these remarks during the 2024 South West Assembly of the APC, held on Saturday at Victoria Island, under the auspices of Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who serves as the Zonal Coordinator of the APC.
The assembly attracted a significant turnout of party leaders and stakeholders from the southwest, including senators, members of the House of Representatives, State House of Assembly members, local government officials, and senior party representatives.
This gathering marked the first assembly since Tinubu’s presidential victory in 2023, during which former Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi delivered the keynote address, praising the President as a “listening leader” committed to achieving success.
In a message conveyed by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, President Tinubu urged Nigerians to exercise patience with his administration, which is dedicated to fostering genuine progress for the people.
The assembly also addressed various significant matters related to the party’s ongoing development, particularly within the South-West Zone.
