APC Defends Tinubu’s Fairness In Appointments Across Zones

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asserted that President Bola Tinubu has ensured fairness across all regions of Nigeria in key appointments, addressing accusations of nepotism from some northern critics. APC spokesman Felix Morka emphasized this during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today program.
“President Tinubu is committed to fairness. We have seen equitable distribution in key governmental roles,” Morka stated, dismissing early criticisms of Tinubu’s administration.
Highlighting the government’s brief tenure, Morka pointed out, “It has only been one year since this administration took office, and many positions are yet to be filled. There are numerous opportunities for diverse appointments.”
He elaborated on the current composition of key roles, noting regional diversity: “Positions like Defence predominantly feature individuals from the northern region, while the Minister of Finance and the CBN Governor are from the southern part of the country.”
Morka urged patience before passing judgment, saying, “It is premature to assess the full spectrum of appointments. We should wait until all significant positions are occupied.”
Regarding concerns about ethnic representation, Morka stressed that the President serves the entire nation under the principles of federal character outlined in the constitution. He concluded, “President Tinubu’s commitment is to ensure every part of Nigeria is adequately represented in his administration.
