In line with his inaugural declaration of Zero Tolerance for every degree of environmental and sundry infractions under his purview, chairman of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Taskforce), CSP Akerele Adetayo, on Thursday, July, 4, 2024, escalated the operations to enforce and ensure statewide compliance with the Lagos State Traffic Law by motorists, as he led officers and men of the agency to purge and free up the popular Adeniji Adele bridge and its adjoining routes of traffic violations caused by the unlawful and indiscriminate parking of vehicles by private and commercial owners.

The operation, which CSP Akerele described as part of a broader plan to abate and ultimately rid Lagos roads of artificial gridlock mostly caused by the activities of selfish commercial drivers, led to the arrests of suspects and the impoundment of forty two vehicles caught in the act.
