BUHARI WILL WIN 2019 ELECTION-PROPHET SEGUN OLUMEGBON

The role of ministers of God to societal development and nation building cannot be overemphasised. In this exclusive interview with Trek Africa Newspaper’s OKI SAMSON in Lagos, Pastor Prophet Segun Olumegbon, of the aristocratic Olumegbon class of Lagos tells a compelling story of his early life and education, his conversion from a largely Muslim-dominated family into Christianity, how God anointed him to be a minister of the Gospel, how the ministry has flourished in his hands and his Revelation for President Buhari and 2019 General Election. He also bare his mind on current national issues, the family and religion.
Trek Africa: Can we meet you sir?
PSO: I am anointed Pastor Prophet Segun Olumegbon of Lagos state. I was born on October 11th, 1960. I attended All Saints School, Yaba, Ahmadiyya College, Imota Community Grammar School from where I proceeded to Lagos State Polytechnic where I did Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Insurance. I then travelled to England in the 1980s to study to become a Chartered Insurance Consultant. I also did Petroleum Management. Later on, I heard the call of God, Christ came into my house, laid hands on me, I heard His voice ‘I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob’. I was anointed by late Prophet Pastor T. O. Obadare. We were there in England then, Pastor S. K. Abiara was there. From there, I returned to start a church in 1990 called Redemption Church of Christ and Evangelical Mission. I’m from the clan of the late Chief Alhaji Rauf Olumegbon, the then Baba Adini of Bariga and Baba Oba of Lagos and my mother Alhaja Ganiyat Bada, she is still alive and strong and the mother of the Olori Ebi of the Bada’s family, I have started the ministry since the 1990s and have done so much. I have confronted the military government of Abacha, the Ogboni fraternity. When I started this church, it was tough but thank God today, we have made impact. I have been given so many awards, I thank God we are known everywhere.
Trek Africa: What is your take on the role of church in the society?
PSO: When you look back to the United States of America and many European countries, they honour men of God. Even the Bible in II Chron. 20:20 tells us about the role of prophets in the blessing of people. It is only, organizations and society that appreciates the men of God that will be able to achieve the living characteristics of a living person. A living person must grow and be established, it is a manifestation of God’s glory. So, if someone really wants to grow straight, abundantly, blessed and spreading greatly like the people of Israel in Exo. 1:7, he must know God. So the problem here is not knowing God. Back to your question, most of the European leaders of those days honour the men of God. Look at Trump, see what he has done in Israel, he says the country belongs to them all, the Americans first. I thank God that I was one of those who gave revelations concerning the success of his government when several people were against him. As against Obama who believed in homosexuality and idol trading, he didn’t really fear God. If you look back into the Bible, you will realise there are seven churches – one of which is the Church of Philadelphia. God has a reason why He made America to be a great country. You will see that Trump will always consult the people of God in his activities.
The Nigerian system of government is quite immature. Poverty is another issue but I don’t think it should make you blind not to know God, rather it should motivate you. Another is how do Nigerian men of God portray themselves. When God gives you the power as He said in John 1:12 and Acts 1:8 there is nothing you cannot control. If a nation is going down, what you should look for is not the leaders but the power structure of the kingdom, the missionaries, the believers and the priests. If the power of God is there, they will be able to control the leadership system. But it is unfortunate that many Nigerian ministers have lost the call. Many of them are too materialistic to the detriment of the Church of God and God is not happy about it, I must tell you. When you ask anyone to come and pay tithe which is scriptural according to Malachi 3, God commanded His people to bring tithes, God will tell you that there are times when people with ill-gotten wealth will also come to offer tithes and you will reject it. God will lead you into righteousness if you allow yourself to be guided. Another area is what do you use the tithe for, God says that there may be meat in my house, you can see many people that have stayed long in the church suffering and the pastor passes by with his car, and that is wrong. These are the appropriate utilization of the tithe. A man of God must be blessed, it is the way it is supposed to be but not at the expense of doing right. Many prophets and pastors are receiving bribes, going into meetings with politicians, these are the things that reduce their value in government, and sincerely pastors do not need this. God has blessed you abundantly, clothed you with honour and glory so you don’t need to parade yourself before them, they are supposed to come to you to seek counsel, guidance and direction. So the problem is that religious leaders have belittled themselves so much to materialism, intoxicated with the wealth they have around instead of focusing on the flock that God has given them.
Trek Africa: Another election is around the corner. But you will recall in 2014/15 when APC gave the Buhari/Osinbajo ticket, there were fears that the set man will Islamise Nigeria. The fears are again been expressed now, though Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice President says there is no iota of truth to it. As a church leader, what do you have to say on this issue?
PSO: God has a reason why Osinbajo is there, I understand he is a Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God. Everybody has a call. So as believers, God did not send us to believers alone, as people who minister in the five-fold ministry, we are sent to the world. If something is wrong in the nation and a pastor arises to say I will take my position to assist the President, there is nothing wrong with that. There is a reason why Buhari is there, God told me He actually planted Buhari there just like He did Trump. Why? Because the former government was very corrupt, given to idol worship, embezzlers, and are part of the people who destroyed the economy of Nigeria, so He brought Buhari there to eradicate corruption. God wants to deliver Nigeria from indecency. God told me He didn’t put him there to kill anybody, to destroy anybody, or to put them in jail, but emphasised that for whoever loots should refund whatever they have looted. So if Buhari had not been here, Nigeria would not have been in peace, economy would not be at equilibrium. But I am saying it again, as I have written it through many mediums that I still see Buhari there in 2019, no matter whatever is conjured up by any group. Let Nigerians take it easy with him, we keep making the same mistakes, let’s take it easy with him so that the looters will be revealed and then, he will obey the voice of God to say I just want to retrieve what you have stolen. By that way, the economy of Nigeria will bounce back. We don’t export anything again, imagine the exchange rate, so if you want to send your children abroad to school, the millions that you will have to spend. I still look forward to him becoming the president of Nigeria, in terms of fighting corruption, he is doing fine.
Trek Africa: The family system has lost its values, how can it be restored?
PSO: I think this also has to do with leadership, the head of the family. Even if it is a family that have lost the father, that is where the church comes in. So, the influence of leadership is very strong on this matter from both religions. However, everything that the Bible records in Matthew 24 about the end of times is already happening, you can see lawlessness everywhere. All those prophecies are what is happening now. But He also added that as believers, our eyes shall only see but it will not affect us. So, there is a role that we have to play, we have to discipline ourselves and our children. That I am anointed does not mean my children are anointed too, I have to train them in the way of the Lord so that they too can work towards receiving the Holy Spirit.
