2019: Lagos Poll Will Be About Continuous Progress And Development – Sanwo-Olu

The Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has described the 2019 governorship election in the State as a race for continuous progress and development of the State.
Sanwo-Olu said this, during a meeting with all the directors of his campaign organisation, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Campaign Organization (BOSCO) in Ikeja.
He thanked all members of the campaign organization for a job well done in the run up to the primary election, saying the last four weeks remained one of the most politically intense weeks in the State.
The Lagos APC governorship candidate however urged members of the campaign team to be magnanimous in victory, emphasizing that both team BOSCO and the opponents in the primaries are members of the same family.
Sanwo-Olu added ‘‘We thank God for the victory but we must ensure that everyone is carried along in this journey. We are all members of the APC irrespective of who we voted for during the primary election. We no longer have aspirants, but a governorship candidate who will be flying the flag of our great party, the All Progressives Congress.’’
In the same vein, the governorship candidate said there is need for him and the campaign organization to reach out to supporters from all the local governments and divisions in the State, noting that ‘‘every one of our supporters should have a sense of belonging. We must go back to those men and women in Alimosho, Ikorodu, Eti-Osa, Badagry, Epe and all other areas in Lagos State, to thank them for coming out to support us during the primaries’’.
He stressed ‘’These are people who may not have the opportunity to see the governor on one to one basis like you so we must put them into consideration because they remain our major backbone as we embark on the second leg of the journey into the governorship election.’’
Speaking about the opposition, Sanwo-Olu warned members of the campaign team not to under-estimate anyone in politics, urging the directors to roll up their sleeves and get ready to work harder for the party’s electoral success in February 2019.
In his comment, the Director General of the campaign organization, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, said the aim of the meeting was to review the organization’s activities during the primaries and to also appreciate members for standing firmly behind Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the race.
All the 28 directors of BOSCO, their deputies and leaders of the APC in the State attended the meeting. It is right to point that it was the first meeting that was held by Sanw-Olu with his campaign team after his emergence as the party’s governorship candidate in 2019 general elections.
Sanwo-Olu also used the occasion to inspect the new office of the campaign organization.
