RIVERS CP OKON VISITS JUDICIARY, OTHER SISTER AGENCIES; CALLS FOR STRONG COLLABORATION

Upon assumption of duty as the 43rd Commissioner of Police in River state Command, CP Okon O. Effiong, psc (+) fdc, paid a courtesy call on sister agencies in the state, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP can report. The news was made available to NAOSNP through a press release by the Rivers state Police PRO, SP Grace Iringe-Koko.

First point of call is the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army where he met with Maj. Gen O.O. Oloyede and reiterated the need for collaboration to enhance the security architecture of Rivers State. Then, he visited the Nigeria Immigration Service State Headquarters and was received by CIS A.J. Kwasua.

Still on courtesy tour the CP visited the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Micheal Ogar at the NSCDC State Command. There, he lectured the officers and men of the Corps including the 3 Area Commanders and 23 Divisional officers on the need to see the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force as a senior brother from the same parent.

CP Okon further maintained that all security apparatus in the State must see each other as one and not as rivals or competitors because a house divided against itself cannot stand. He also laid emphasis on the need for inter-agency collaborations such as training and re-training of personnel, inter agency sports competition, joint operations and sharing of vital intelligence information.

On the same stretch, the Commissioner of Police extended a courtesy call on Hon. Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi; the Chief Judge of the State and other Judges. The visit was centered on the need for collaborations and effective service delivery with the judicial arm of government because they are very central and vital in ensuring Justice and equity among the citizens just as the Police is sadlled with the responsibility of maintaining law and order in the state and the nation as a whole.
