LAGOS CP ALABI SENDS FORTH ADEGOKE FAYOADE, OTHERS IN GRAND STYLE; CALLS PROMOTION OF 2 NEW CPs ‘GOOD OMEN’

It was an evening of felicity and celebration for the entire Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police on Thursday 17th November when the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Sylvester Abiodun Alabi send forth deserving officers of the Command who have been promoted and transferred to other Commands of the Nigeria Police across the country. Trek Africa Newspaper can report that the ceremony which held at the Police Officers Mess, Ikeja, Lagos had newly-promoted CP Adegoke Fayoade and his family in attendance.
Also, new promotees – DCP Ibrahim Zungura, DCP Aliko Dankoli, ACP Rasaq Oseni, ACP Okosodo Barnabas, and ACP Jabaje Jimoh were also sendforth.
Expressing deep satisfaction and appreciation to God for the great feat, Lagos CP Sylvester Alabi noted: ‘This is the second time that 2 DCPs working with me will be promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police. I believe it is a big omen and a sign of glory and I thank God for that. We also have 2 ACPs to DCPs, 3 CSPs to ACP. I am also happy during my tenure that it is happening in Lagos State Command, to God be the glory.’

Speaking about the new CP Adegoke Fayoade, Trek Africa Newspaper gathered from CP Alabi, ‘Fayoade has been my friend for the past 28 years. We have been navigating the problem of policing in Nigeria together. One particular interesting thing is that when he was getting married, I was his best man. I never knew I am coming to Lagos State Command but that is Providence. For the past 10 months, he has been working with me as subordinate and as friend. He has never let my relationship with him to affect his productivity. He didn’t abuse the familiarity. I want to thank God for the wife at home because when you have rest of mind, you will be able to do what you are supposed to do.’
‘There is a great difference between DCP and CP, continue to be principled, avoid distraction, be steadfast. Congratulations again I wish you the best. We are just starting, we will get to the peak of our careers’, he advised Fayoade.

To new DCP Ibrahim Zungura, CP Alabi said: ‘He was my provost when I was in Abuja. We have a good and robust relationship. He has been a fantastic officer. Under me, he was Commander of Area G Ogba. I want to thank you for proving your mettle.’
‘I wish you well in your future endeavours but where you are going is not your place – Police college is not your place, you will soon get out of the place so that you can go and continue your work of Operations’, he opined.
To Dankoli, CP Alabi said: ‘We were together as DPOs in Lagos State Command so I will continue to remember him for his baritone voice. He is diligent and fantastic. I wish him well.’
To the promoted officers who are still under the Lagos State Command, ‘I wish all the other officers promoted well in their future endeavours. I appreciate all men and officers of Lagos State Command for the journey so far. Let’s continue to pray for God’s protection and guidance. The work is very hazardous but God is faithful and He will continue to protect us’, Alabi said.

ACP Kemi Tijani, Area Commanders, Head of Tactical Units, DPOs, PPRO SP Ben Hundeyin among other officers were at the event.
In his response, Abuja-bound CP Adegoke Fayoade said: ‘I want to appreciate the Commissioner of Police for organizing this ceremony for us. I want to appreciate Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, he has tremendously contributed to what we have as security in Lagos, you will continue to excel.’

‘I want to tell the officers of Lagos State Command to keep the flag flying. When you are out of Lagos, anywhere you find yourself, you excel.’
On his part, Zungura remarked: ‘We thank the Commissioner of Police who by his directive allowed this day to happen. We thank you very much.’
