SEN. OLUREMI TINUBU… ‘ASIWAJU’S GREATEST EVIDENCE OF RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE’ – BAMGBOLA; TELLS ASIWAJU TO THINK CAPABILITY, MERIT FOR RUNNING MATE

It is no more news that the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress, APC has been concluded with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerging as the winner after a keenly contested election at the Eagle Square, Abuja. Since the conclusion of this election, there has been several debates across the country about who will be chosen by the presidential candidate as his running mate.
These debates has largely been attached to the issue of religion, which has become one of the major factors for consideration in trying to scout for a vice-presidential candidate for the joint ticket.
Expressing his thoughts on the lingering issue, the Commissioner representing Lagos Division at the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Honourable Hakeem Bamgbola said it is hightime Nigerians begin to detach religion and ethnicity from the issue of politics and governance. He affirmed to Trek Africa Newspaper that competence, merit and capability should be allowed to be the determining factor in arriving at a choice of our elected public officers.

He described Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a detribalised Nigerian who has never considered ethnicity and religion in all his efforts at human capacity development and good governance, adding that majority of the beneficiaries of his largeheartedness, generosity and philanthropic activities have been persons from a religion that is different from his.
To buttress Tinubu’s tolerance for the other major religion, Hon. Bamgbola stated that the greatest evidence of religious tolerance on the path of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was that he has tolerated and lived with a Christian wife, who is also a Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God for close to 40 years.

On the search for a running mate for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. Hakeem Bamgbola emphatically told Trek Africa Newspaper that he is in support of a Muslim-Muslim ticket in as much as it will translate to getting the best men to do the job of fixing the challenges of our dear Nation, and also help our great party, the All Progressives Congress, to emerge victorious at the coming general election.
He urged Nigerians to be focused on the capabilities of the candidates put forward by the All Progressives Congress and support the candidacy of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President.
He predicted that Asiwaju is destined to turn out as the best President that Nigeria ever had. This is going by his huge experience in governance, track record in public service delivery, and the large network of quality men and women at his disposal, Trek Africa Newspaper reports.
