The Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja may get a new occupant next year. This is because the Accord Party’s gubernatorial aspirant, Barr. Oluyinka Oyeniji is poised to challenge the incumbent Gov. Sanwo-olu’s popularity in the coming polls. He made this audacious move known when he attended the Accord Party’s state executives meeting last Thursday.
The human rights lawyer said: ‘I am not doing all this to make claims. I am doing this because it is purpose for me. Politics is not a one-off thing that you just come out every 4 years to compete, it is a lifelong commitment. What we want to do is mindset change. This is what we want to do for the long haul. Africa needs help. We want to get Accord Party to the point that we can export it to other African countries. We want to do politics right.’
‘That is what my campaign is for. It is summarized in the phrase, Social Welfare for Lagos Residents (SWELR). If it is for us to teach them how to do politics right, we will do that. Let’s build this in an organic way. Accord Party is organic. Let’s build it. If it is about money, I may just send money for nomination form and maybe you will just see a few posters on the streets but I won’t meet all of you today. I won’t be able to relate with you, I won’t be able to listen to you and you also won’t be able to hear from me. I am not saying it will be easy but let us not be fearful’, Oladeji told the state excos.

On the Constitutional issue of Diaspora voting, the guber aspirant who recently challenged Lagos State Government for sacking close to 300 LASTMA Rescue Unit (LRU)’s workers said: ‘There is nowhere Nigerians are that they don’t have right to vote. People in diaspora should be able to vote, whether they live in Canada, USA, UK, or Niger. It is their right to vote. We can do it electronically.’
‘If we have NIN, BVN, and others, why can’t we vote electronically, why? That is not right at all. The advantage of getting the electronic voting system in place is that overtime those who are based in Nigeria will also be able to vote not only physically but electronically’, Trek Africa Newspaper gathered.
The Managing Partner of First Chronicles LP said he will be visiting Osun state soon in order to consolidate the efforts of the Acoord Party’s governorship candidate, Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi towards the 16th July 2022 elections. ‘Soon, we will go to Osun state to encourage our Guber candidate. Our work is to encourage ourselves in Accord Party in order to strengthen the party. We are also gunning for 453 persons to contest Senate and House of Reps seats’, he concluded.
