New dawn sets-in for the people and Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu led administration of Somolu Local Government as the awaiting list of supervisors and special advisers eventually emerged.
Following their successful screening at the sitting of the Ninth Somolu Legislative Council, led by Hon. Yomi Osunkoya, the Chairman who was in the presence of Hon. Ademola Adefalujo Olisa, Pastor Femi Adebiyi Taiwo, Alhaji Olaoluwa Babatunde, Prince Yusuf Salawu and Hon. Afolarin Olubiyi, sworn in the appointed Executive Council.
According to the Council Chairman, it is in the best interest of all to boost the essential ranks of his administration, a decision well taken based on credibility, competence and in line with the indulgence of the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
The new Secretary to the Local Government, supervisors and Special Advisers will form the new executive cabinet of the Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu led administration of Somolu Local Government. Some former supervisors, councilors and two former Chiefs of staff were listed amongst the cabinet.
The Vice Chairman, Hon. Adekunle Ekiyemi is also saddled with the portfolio of Supervisor for Education while the former Chief of Staff in the Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu during his first term in office is now to serve as scribe, having a new office as the Secretary to the local government.
Other Supervisors who are executive members of the new cabinet include Hon. Akinola Olumide (Environment), Hon. Oladipo Omifare (Health), Alhaja Surakat Adetutu (Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation), Alhaji Kabir Raji (Works & Infrastructure), Hon. Ayo Coker (Agric & Social Services), Hon. Abiodun Anjorin (Budget, Statistics & Planning) and Hon. Tosin Odubanjo (Information & Communication Technology).
The Supervisors won’t be left alone in the Executive Cabinet as Special Advisers to the Executive Chairman are included, they are Prince Osokoya Olatunji Idowu (Security Matters), Hon. Abdul Wasiu Azeez (Works & Infrastructure) and Hon. Koya Olayinka-Sodipe (Health).
Leading the swearing-in ceremony, the council’s Legal Officer, Barrister Ajoke Raji was joined by the Council Manager, Mrs. Arinola Shodipo as well as the Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Samiat Bolanle Oki-Shoye.
However, the council’s helmsman charge the new executive members of the local government to be creative, committed and dedicated to the Local Government and Somolu community at large.
