LAGOS NEIGHBOURHOOD RESTRUCTURES TO MEET EVOLVING SECURITY SITUATION

As part of her mandate to provide resilient security architecture at the grassroots, the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency has rejig its operational and management structures to become more proactive while responding to the ever-evolving security situation of the State.
In a press statement obtained by the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP stated that, “The General Manager of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency, Prince Ifalade Oyekan has promised Lagos State residents of a more resilient security architecture at the grassroot.”

According to the statement, “Prince Oyekan disclosed this while addressing the Management Team of the Agency comprising the Commanding Officers, Administrative Officers, Heads of Intelligence and Heads of Operations at the Local Government level during a one-day operational interactive session.”
“Ifalade Oyekan lamented the unfortunate murder of Bamishe Ayanwole as an incident that broke the heart of the people of the State, declaring that the Agency will continue to rejig its operational and management structures to become more proactive while responding to the ever-evolving security situation of the State.”
While commiserating with the family of Bamishe, he said the only way to reciprocate the huge investment of the Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the Security of lives and properties in Lagos State.
The General Manager also informed the Team that the Agency will continue to collaborate with other agencies across the country to ensure it delivers on its mandate to the people. As part of this effort, he informed the Officers of the Agency’s readiness to collaborate with the Ministry of Youth and social development in a multi-purpose approach that will bring the Agency closer to the people and at the same time join forces with the Ministry in combatting crime and other social vices among the Youths.
Towards this end, the Ministry of Youth and social development will provide offices in all its recreation centres state-wide so that with the presence of Neighbourhood corps officers in their midst, the youths is expected to act as a deterent against social vices including Drug abuse etc.
It will be recalled that the Neighbourhood corps officers were posted to public schools in the state to monitor activities of pupils to prevent youthful misdemeanors.
