The Special Guest of Honor at the Second Edition of the Annual Conference on Women, Peace and Security Sector Reference Group, held at the National Defence College, Abuja, First Lady of Nigeria, Dr Aisha Buhari, presented an Award of Excellence to the Head of NSCDC Gender unit, CSC ALAO AJET KEMI for exceptional performance of the unit, the Launching of NSCDC Gender Policy and the establishment of the Special Female Squad among others.
The event with the Theme: “Mainstreaming Gender in National Policy warning systems and Security Challenge” was attended by the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, representative of Chief of Defence Staff, UN Women representative to Nigeria and ECOWAS, UNFPA Country Representative, representatives of Service Chiefs, female security personnel in military, Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other paramilitary Agencies.
