BABA ETO AT 75: AYINDE, ALAWIYE-KING, TINUBU-OJO, AJENIFUJA, OLASILE PRAISE, PRAY FOR ELDER STATESMAN

Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku is a great man from all perspectives. His spiritual capacity, political involvement, partisan commitment, humanitarian support, and huge outlook to life has been praised by friends, family, associates, and many others who simply describe him as ‘Baba, father’. This was highlighted over the weekend at his 75th birthday celebration which drew a lot of people from all walks of life.
The Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Hon. Tayo Ayinde briefly noted about Cardinal James Omolaja Odunmbaku, ‘He is a man of integrity. He is a great man’.

A secretary in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alh. Mohammed Ajenifuja shared: ‘Baba Eto is a great man. He took me as a child despite party differences. When they are having prayers, he will ask me to be present. He is very humble and loyal. Baba at 75 looks younger than his age, I wish him well. He has a good heart that is why he is looking fresh. Party affiliation doesn’t matter, it is relationships first.’
The Chairman of Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), Hon. Wahab Alawiye-King said: ‘Baba is a very lovable, likeable, and amiable person. He shows love to everybody. He is a magnetic personality that attracts many to himself. He has inspired many people to aspire to greatness. I wish Baba good health, long life, and prosperity.’
A Clergyman praying for Cardinal James Odunmbaku and his Family during his 75th Birthday Thanksgiving Service
‘Being a former member of Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Education, it has made me fitted so my coming to SUBEB is like homecoming. It is a very familiar terrain for me. The Lagos State House of Assembly has afforded me the opportunity to know something about everything in the education sector which has really assisted me in what I am doing’, Hon. Alawiye-King noted about his successes at LASUBEB.
On her part, the Iyaloja General, Chief Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo said: ‘Baba is my father. I only have to pray for him and wish him well that we will never miss him now and he will never bury any of his children. He will live so long in good health and sound mind in Jesus name. He brings a lot of people – young and old – together. He calls me ‘iya, mother’ because of my position not because of my age.’

Bolanle Olasile, the youth leader in Ikeja covering Ikeja, Onigbongbo, and Ojodu shared: ‘Baba is a father, a leader symbol, and someone who wants youths to grow. He is a spiritual leader who knows what it takes.’
On his role as youth leader, Mr. Olasile spoke to Oki Samson of Trek Africa Newspaper, ‘We want to get the youth together in unity so that we can carry the APC flag flying. We want to make our government a government of the people. We want to take youths to the next level as party faithfuls. We want to make Ikeja youths to know that it is our time and we can do more by the power that God has given us through APC. We want to bring out the potentials of youths. We don’t want to discriminate. Our plans will benefit all youths in Ikeja.’
