IKATE PROGRESSIVE YOUTH HOST SWEEP FOUNDATION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

IKATE PROGRESSIVE YOUTH Host SWEEP FOUNDATION for environmental awareness to IKATE community and it’s environs in other to educate and enlighten both residence, market men and women in the community on environmental sanitations and benefits of keeping used plastics.
The project was partner by coca cola plc and German magazine.
Before the kick off of extracting plastics and preaching the gospel of environmental hygiene to the nooks and crannies of the community, the ambassador of SWEEP FOUNDATION, AMB Obuesi Philip took his time to address the participants. He encouraged everyone on attendance to be environmental vigilant and continue to inform the whole community that keeping those used plastics and selling to recycling organizations is an additional income to the one they have.
After lots of encouragement and environmental awareness, the ambassador introduced Mr HILER. An international observer and a CEO of German magazine that is base on environment and the stage in which recycling of waste products are in Africa. He explained in details benefits in recycling waste products and environmental hygiene.
Honorable Santos, the deputy leader of itire/ikate lcda and a member of IKATE PROGRESSIVE YOUTH took the opportunity to address on behalf of the two councilors of the community by encouraging everyone not to liter the environment through throwing all kinds of used nylons, plastics and papers that later on converge to block the community drainage systems which will bounce back on the residence during rainy seasons.
He furthermore encouraged other youths to be positively impactful in the community in other for the community to be moving forward. After speeches from dignitaries, the full squads swung in to actions by going into nooks and crannies of IKATE community to create more environmental aware and encouraging picking plastics for recycling in other to make more income.
After cleaning of the environments, they were goodies and refreshments for the participants, courtesy of Coca Cola Plc.
