Trek Africa Newspaper has details of why Abubakar Bukola Saraki, a former Senate President in Nigeria was arrested by men of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission – EFCC.
Trek Africa Newspaper understands that the Kwara born politician was detained on Saturday afternoon by based on fresh charges filed by the EFCC bordering on alleged theft and laundering of public funds using a network of cronies and proxy companies.
Recall that in his days as Senate President, Saraki faced series of corruption charges until recently when he was cleared on some of the charges leveled against him.
