The National Deputy Chairman, Association of Vice Chairman of Local Government and Vice Chairman of Ikorodu LGA, Aarebinrin Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba has declared her support and that of millions others yesterday as a new pressure group called Asiwaju Distinguished Ambassadors Movement (ADAM) hold her inaugural meeting in Lagos. The well attended meeting covered by Oki Samson of Trek Africa Newspaper Aarebinrin Folashade Olabanji-Oba Stated, ‘Today, we believe history’s been made as we are starting a movement. We thank God and celebrate the life of our national leader, Asiwaju Dr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We see him as a great gift for our country. We are saying he has served us so well but we believe that he can even do more.’

For the ADAM, they want Asiwaju to run for the 2023 presidential polls, ‘Today some of us are starting this journey to be a pressure group to say that he should listen to us as his children that as such as time as this, we need no other person than him in the next dispensation. We thank God for the life of H.E. President Muhammadu Buhari but we talk as progressives in continuity, and in the true spirit of Lagos where we say Lagos leads all others follow. We know that the good things we enjoy today in Lagos started with his blueprint and footprint.

He is gifted in adding value and raising so many great men from local government chairmen to governors to senators to representatives, we don’t have the cause to regret. He is a selfless leader and we never forget that we have a choice and he is our choice. We are here sold out to starting the sensitization for the new dawn for him.

It is an awakening and we all must get involved but it starts with choosing great leaders that can take us to Promised Land. Our slogan says ‘Nigeria will truly be great’. The unity of Nigeria is non-negotiable. For us, it must start with our great leader and mentor, Asiwaju Tinubu’.

The strong advocate for good governance and women and girl child rights supporter furthered on the necessity for the group as she added ‘Every politics is local. My own perspective is that over the years, he (Asiwaju Tinubu) has not failed us. Nigeria is a unique country.

The world came through a lot last year – climate change, pandemic – which we are not prepared for. But I still say it could have been worse. We are saying that the job of any government is to listen and be proactive. For us in APC, we are consistently listening and adjusting.

Nobody planned for a pandemic but I know that posterity will judge us very well and positively. Asiwaju sleeps and wakes Nigeria. When you listen to his speech, he talks about peace and security, then the economy and infrastructure under which we have education, health, etc. but peace must be sought, it is priceless.’

‘The Asiwaju Distinguished Ambassadors Movement is saying we are all Nigerians, responsible and we should all get involved and contribute our quota. Most times in life, we used to enjoy others’ green grass without realizing that somebody somewhere is watering the grass. For us, we want to water our lawn.

We want to make sure we are the pride of this great country. As A.D.A.M, we want to raise like minds. There is an Asiwaju in each and every one of us because we are under his tutelage. We are his mentees. Wherever you see any member of A.D.A.M, you will be sure that they are doing something proud and great for the country.’

On the leaping progress they are making at A.D.A.M on their quest to get enough people to join the group, the Founder/National Coordinator for Asiwaju Distinguished Ambassadors Movement, Aarebinrin Olabanji-Oba shared: ‘This is our inaugural meeting. Because of COVID-19 we have started home cells, LG cell, states cells, and as of today we are in 21 states. Also we have in the Diaspora including the US, the UK, China, Germany, and Italy, Nigerians that are also saying they want him and are collaborating with us. But we are saying, it is a movement and we all need to come on board. For us, it has to be all 36 states and all countries of the world.’
