APATIRA, ONIKATE, BAMGBOLA OTHERS RECEIVES ASTRAZENECA COVID-19 VACCINE IN ITIRE-IKATE

The Executive Chairman Of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. (Dr.) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira Led by example, As Itire-Ikate LCDA residents receive the first Jab of ‘AstraZeneca’ COVID-19 vaccine at Akerele PHC Extension Centre, Airways Ijeshatedo, Surulere on Wednesday, 17th March, 2021.

Itire-Ikate LCDA Vaccine Accountability Officer and Supervisor for Health, Hon. Saheed Adegbuyi Adesanya; Itire-Ikate Medical Officer for Health (MOH), Dr. Titilayo Oni; APEX ADNS Asegere and other Health workers were also among the beneficiaries that got the first Jab of COVID-19 Vaccine.

The Chairman said government efforts in ensuring the citizens are safer is extraordinary and highly commendable.

Furthermore, Dr. Apatira emphatically stated he did not feel any side effects after taking the shot, stressing that administering the vaccine on Nigerians is the only feasible gateway to a Covid-19 free society.

Besides, the council boss urged residents to come forward for the COVID-19 Vaccine at any of the designated centres situated around the axis of Surulere LGA so as to key into government significant plan of building a safe and healthy environment in Itire-Ikate LCDA.

The MOH explained that the vaccine can only be received by individuals who do not have any underlying health issues and further advise that it should not be taken on an empty stomach.

Dr. Oni stated that the vaccine is of two(2) dosage with the next one slated for June, 2021.

However, the Medical Officer unequivocally stated that it is not yet uhuru as the route to freedom is still miles ahead but achievable.

“There is still much to do to contain this dreadful virus, most importantly maintaining the highest level of our health professionals guidelines such as washing of hands, usage of nose masks and sanitiser”.

Recall that the first Jab of Astrazeneca COVID-19 vaccine was administered on Lagosians early last week which significantly kicked off the state-wide vaccination exercise across the centres in Lagos State.

Other dignitaries that have received the first Jab are Onikate of Ikate Land, Surulere, HRM, Oba Lateef Adams; Surulere Apex Leader, Chief D.O. Adenekan; Surulere Constituency II Former House of Representatives Member, Rt. Hon. Akeem Arole Fancy; GM Drain Ducks, Alhaji Akeem Apatira; Commissioner of Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Hakeem Bamgbola; Former Chief Whip LSHA and E.S/CEO LSSTF, Hon. Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun.

Itire-Ikate Vice-Chairman, Pastor Gbenga Oyebode; Itire-Ikate SLG, Hon. Kehinde Alabi Baruwa; Itire-Ikate Council Leader, Hon. Akorede Adams Subair; Itire-Ikate CDC Chairman, Otunba Dupe Adekoya; Honourable Councillors, Honourable Supervisors, Management Staff, LGA Officers, Ward Chairmen, Religious Bodies, Artisans, NURTW Members amongst others were vaccinated.
