Niger Delta University Students drown while Swimming in the River at Amassoma

Two students of the Bayelsa State government owned University, Niger Delta University have Drowned in river in Amassoma,  Southern Ijaw Local government area.

As at the time of filing in this report Search party and sympathetic people are busy looking for the victims.

The deceased students are said to of same parents and were travelling when the unfortunate incident occurred.

According to sources the students went on a swimming exercise and one was said to drowning and sought for help and his brother who went for his rescue also got drowned.

Their identities could not be ascertained as at the time of filing in this report and no official statement from the  school authorities.

The State Police command is also yet to confirm the incident. An eyewitness said the incident happened in the morning at about 10 am adding that  some natives dived into the river to bring out the remains of the victims.
