International Day Of The Girl Child : ‘Help Your Female Child Become A Great Pillar Of The Society’ – Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba Urges Mothers

Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba, National Deputy Chairman, The Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria and the Vice Chairman of Ikorodu local Government.
In commemoration of the International Day Of The Girl Child which held on Saturday, 10th Of October, 2020, The National deputy chairman of the association of local government vice chairmen of Nigeria and the Vice chairman of Ikorodu local government,Hon. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba has urged parents to help their children in becoming great pillars of any society they find themselves.
She noted that the primary job and objective of every parent is to support the female child, ensure they occupy their space and help them for a better tomorrow.
She made it known that over the years, female children have been facing stereotyping from the society and they have been made to understand that they are limited but it is the duty of parents, especially mothers to allow the female child grow into her very best, maximize and bring out the full potentials she has got, hereby, proving the negative stereotypes wrong in all ways.
Furthermore, She explained that the female child need to understand that She’s got 3Ps; Possible,….., and Potentials, in order to make her become a more enabled citizen of the society
‘Parents , Teachers and Mentorshave roles to play in making life better for the female child. As mothers, our primary job is to support our female child, we need to help them occupy their space, the more we support them, the better for us.
The stereotyping the female child has received over the years needs to be stopped, you need to say that the female child is not limited because she is pretty, you need to let her grow into her very best, to maximize, bringing out her full potentials. She’s got all the skills, help her to be a more enabled citizen, she will end up being among the great pillars of any society.
Every Female child need to know they possess what I call 3Ps, which are Possibilities, Power and Potentials.
We need to Help our girl child for a better and greater tomorrow’’.
