...Mayoress canvased for candidates
The Magodo town hall was filled up with dignatories, political leaders and lovers of All Progressives Congress party today as Magodo phase 1 and Orisha community host the APC Lagos-east senatorial candidate, Mr. Tokunbo Abiru and the Kosofe Constituency II house of assembly candidate, Hon. Femi Saheed.
The Mayoress of Ikosi-isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, received the candidates and other leaders of note in the district who attended the event. In her welcome address, she stated her worthwhile achievements in the last seven months and urged all inhabitants of Ikosi-isheri to make the candidates emerge via their humongous votes to be casted during the upcoming bye-election.
In a jolly mood, the chairman of APC campaign Committee and Vice-chairman of Lagos-East, Ashipa Kaoli Olusanya, appreciated the reception of the candidates by the hosts. After this, he implored all residents of Isheri, Magodo and Olowoora communities to canvass wholeheartedly and vote massively for the duo aspirants, come October 31st.
The Lagos-East Senatorial candidate, Mr. Tokunbo Abiru, promised to reciprocate his vast experience in the banking sector to the benefits of his constituents if elected as senator. In response to the question posed by the youth leader of the community, Mr. Tokunbo promised to sponsor bills and come up with constituency projects that will impact the youths in the district.
“I know what my community want, the road that link Mile 12/Agiliti to Magodo here is long overdue for construction. We need motions and bills to hasten this kind of infastructural development in our community”, stated Hon. Femi Saheed as he canvassed for the masses support and votes at the event.
Hon. Bola Shodipo recounted the past experiences of the duo in different capacities and vouch for their capabilities to respectively represent Lagos-east district and Kosofe Constituency II at the Federal and State legislative chambers. This was reiterated by Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye, MHR, Kosofe Fed. Constituency who described Abiru and Femi Saheed as right pegs in right holes to represent Lagos east and Kosofe II constituents effectively.
The Chairman of Magodo/Isheri CDA, Prince Farotade Benson, welcomed the guests to the occasion and promised that the community will garner tremendous votes for the two candidates on the election day. This was later corroborated by the Baale of Magodo, Chief Jimoh Shobowale.
Also present at the program are Chief Bola Oyedele, Hon. Seye Oladejo (APC State Publicity Sec.), Hon. Segun Olulade, Mayor Dele Osinowo of Agboyi-ketu LCDA, Alhaji Mukaila Adisa (Deputy Mayor, Ikosi-isheri LCDA), Hon. Bola Kazeem, Chief Nuru Oluwo, Hon. Abiodun Martins, Prince Omoba Adeyinka, Chief Gbadamosi Luqmon (Baale of Orisha) and other royal fathers, some Executives and legislative members of Ikosi-isheri LCDA, Chief Imams, CAN representative, youth association, ward leaders, party members and some community residents.
