GOC 81 DIV. MAJOR GEN. UMELO PAYS AIG ILIYASU COURTESY VISIT

*AIG Zone 2 reiterate the commitment to partner the Nigeria Army in combating crime and ensuring security of life and property
The newly appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division, Nigerian Army Major General G.A Umelo has paid a courtesy visit on the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, AIG Ahmed Iliyasu.
According to the GOC, the visit was in furtherance of the synergy and collaboration between the Nigeria Army and the Nigeria Police in ensuring the security and protection of lives and property.
In a statement by the Zone’s Police public relation officer, DSP Hauwa Idris Adamu, The GOC in retinue of officers was accorded General Salute by men of the Nigeria Police Zone 2 Command Headquarters after which senior officers in the zone were introduced.
Major Gen. Umelo stated, “The reason for this courtesy visit; is for the sustenance of the existing synergy and collaboration between the Forces”.
Meanwhile, AIG Ahmed Iliyasu in his words, assures the Army of the Command’s continuous partnership.
He stated, “I want to reiterate the commitment and readiness of the Zone partnership with the Nigeria Army in combating crime, criminality and ensuring security of life and property while, using the veritable tool of Community Policing Strategy of problem solving and to maintain a very good work relationship” he assures.
