One plague that has since eaten deep into the fabrics of our society as a nation is engaging the wrong hands to manage sensitive positions that is critical to the development and economic growth of the nation.
This narrative will change, when the action Governor, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu engaged the services of Mr. Ibrahim Odunbomi to manage the effective operations of the Lagos State Waste Management Agency popularly addressed as LAWMA.
Saboteurs were visibly ruffled when the game changer, Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu decided to put the square peg in square holes by entrusting the agency into the hands of Mr. Ibrahim Odunbomi. It is no longer news that the treacherous games of the supposed Iron Lady and her cohorts have been exposed, what is news worthy and worth celebrating is that LAWMA is fast returning to its glory days.
Four cardinal factors were instrumental to the glory days of LAWMA as stated below
1. Decentralization of operations
2. Capacity building and empowerment
3. Waste sorting and management
4. Advocacy for prompt payment of bills.
The new leadership upon assuming office, returned to the drawing board to thinker on this components of growth and developed an improved version of effective service delivery. The result is what we see as our neighborhoods are cleaner, staff are excited to go to work, better informed on responsibility, financial leakages are blocked.
Mr. Ibrahim Odunbomi can be said to be a square peg in a square hole, who have gained the trust of communities across the state and should be encouraged to carry out the reformative policies towards repositioning the agency to achieving the fundamental objectives of it’s creation.
