Amuwo-Odofin Local Govt Chairman,  VOB Recieves Commissioner for Wealth Creation on Working visit

The Executive Chairman, Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Engr. Dr. Valentine Oluwaseyi Buraimoh recieved an August yet important visitor capable at playing an important role in the advancement of economic empowerment and wealth creation in communities across Amuwo-Odofin Local Government in person of Hon. Mrs Yetunde Arobieke, Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment.

The context of her working visit to the Local Government was to ensure that the most vulnerable within the Local government across communities are captured in the enumeration programme of vulnerable and indigent members of communities by the State operation coordinating unit (SOCU) unit of Lagos State domiciled in the Local Government.

In her statement she said, “I observed that more residents that are vulnerable can still be captured in the database of the unit. I would not want our communities to miss out of this opportunity. So I am here to appeal to my brother, the Executive Chairman to do everything in his power to ensure that our people as are well enumerated in the exercise.” She also explained that the long term benefit of the enumeration programme is the conditional cash transfer initiative of the Federal government as created for the vulnerable.

The Mayor thanked her immensely for her motherly instinct and passion to make sure that as many people as possible benefit in the welfare package. He also said, “Our administration is very much on top of the process. I have also approved the purchase of ten computer tablets for the enumeration exercise, and we are most confident that the programme will come out successful in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government.”

Also in the train of the Honourable commissioner are the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Dapo Thomas and the State coordinator of SUCO, Mrs. Orimoogunje Lola Korede who also made constructive contributions to how the on-going enumeration programme can be successful.
